What is Tyconix?
Tyconix is a player analytics service used by game studios to better understand gameplay patterns and improve the player experience. If you are playing a game that uses Tyconix, this page explains what data is involved and how it is handled.
What data does Tyconix receive?
When a game studio integrates Tyconix, the game may send the following data to our servers:
- A randomized player ID - this is a randomly generated code (like a string of letters and numbers) that does not contain your name, email, or any personal details. It is used only to group gameplay events from the same player together.
- Gameplay behavior data - this includes things like session starts and ends, in-game actions, progression milestones, and gameplay patterns. It does not include chat messages, personal details, or payment information.
What does Tyconix NOT collect?
We do not receive or store:
- Your name, email address, or account credentials
- Your IP address, device ID, or precise location
- Your payment or financial information
- Your chat messages or social interactions (unless the game studio has separately enabled an optional content moderation feature, in which case in-game text may be analyzed for safety purposes)
What does Tyconix do with this data?
We analyze gameplay behavior to help the game studio understand patterns like how players progress, where players may be experiencing difficulty, and how engagement changes over time. This helps the studio make decisions about game design, difficulty balancing, and player support.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not use your data for any purpose other than providing analytics to the game studio whose game you are playing.
How long is data kept?
The game studio controls how long gameplay data is retained. When the retention period expires, the data is automatically deleted.
Your rights
Because Tyconix does not collect personal information that identifies you, we cannot look up or retrieve data associated with you as an individual. If you have questions or concerns about how your data is handled, we recommend contacting the game studio directly - they control what data is sent to Tyconix and can respond to your requests.
If you believe your personal data has been processed improperly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
About the content moderation feature
Some game studios may use an optional Tyconix feature that analyzes in-game text (such as chat messages) to detect harmful or inappropriate content. If this feature is enabled:
- Your in-game text may be sent to a third-party AI service (OpenAI) for moderation analysis
- This processing is limited to content safety classification - it is not used for behavioral analytics, profiling, or any other purpose
- The game studio decides whether to enable this feature
If you have questions about whether the game you are playing uses this feature, contact the game studio.
